My illuminating thoughts-chapter 3:

Hamad and Alghalia have gotten really close as friends. They had a lot in common. They both like to read actually, they debate about a lot of things.

Hamad and ghalia have now a small group of friends. Hamad's best friend, Jaber that the most typical kuwaiti guy ever. He hitts on every girl that walks by him, He curses a lot. Also, I hate to say this but he's kinda... ya'know dumb.

Jaber was tall, really tall like 177. He had black hair and he worked out a little too much. What was different about him was that he had really light brown eyes.

Basma, was AlGhalia's best friend that was well the opposite of her. She saw studying abroad as freedom. As an escape for Kuwait's forceful society.

She was also Ghalia's cousin. That's actually the only was Basma's parents let her study abroad because they thought she'd be in good hands. They were so wrong.

Basma was pretty, not exceptionally beautiful. She could be but she doesn't put in the effort. She's so careless she couldn't care less about her looks. I guess over-confidence does make you look good.

Basma's living her college experience to the fullest, parties, concerts, weed, She even smokes which was considered okay in California but not in front of kuwaiti's. She acts like an angel in front of her kuwaiti guy friends. Such a hypocrite.

Sarah, is one of Basma's Saudi friends. She speaks fluent English and Spanish, considering um Sarah was spanish. Which looks so weird when she talks in Spanish because her voice doesn't match her looks.

She had traditional Saudi beauty except with her mom's blue-ish eyes which really can't be seen unless its under the sunlight.

The girls' also had a gay american friend, which the guys hated. His name was mark. Damn, he was good looking. It's too bad he's gay. He had dark brown hair, great facial features and a model's body.

He didn't act gay at all, actually he acts like a normal person.

-

All of them gathered at a their usual spot at an off-campus diner. It was friday night and every one was there. Ghaliah had this intense moment when she started appreciating all of her friends.

Jaber and Sarah were arguing women's rights.

"I swear, it's disgusting how guys like you treat women. You lie to them and cheat on them and no one judges you but when a women does the same thing. They label her a million different things" Sarah said.

"a7, shlon et5aleeha etkalmik chithee?" Hamad said with a cute smirk.

"enta chub, don't make me start with you bes shwaya ga3d t7tirim nafsik jidam Ghalia" Basma said while smiling, fuck her. She's always doing things like that.

She made Ghalia blush and Hamad saw her and smiled, making his dimples appear.

And quickly the subject changes to the headmaster's latest nose job. The headmaster is obsessed with plastic surgery. Mark started the conversation, sure you can guess he's gay by the conversations he talks about but he quickly blended with our group.

After a while "ta3alow 5anrou7 nitmasha" Hamad said standing up.

"english english, I only know taalow means come" Mark said.

Hamad smirked his 'I am so annoyed' smirk.

"Ghalooy ta3alay" He said.

"oohhh sh3alaich ghalia" Basma said with a goofy grin.

"entay zahba 7ag el mashakel" Ghalia said

"yallah Ghalooy" Hamad said, ignoring Basma's comment. Basma quickly sunk in back into her conversation with Jaber, sarah and Mark about the headmaster's plastic surgery obsession.

"Okay, 7atan lu malee khulg" AlGhalia said and Hamad grinned with bad intentions.

And they left that night wandering around the city,

where it was too bright that even the stars didn't shine.

My illuminating thoughts-chapter 2:

She was one of the good ones, no one ever got to her. Untouched, Unharmed.  She was a one in a million he always thought that of her.

He'd see her everyday and everyday she'd say the same thing "adree ena e7na mu ga3deen bel kuwait bes a5af 3ala sum3etee"  You'd think Hamad would get the the point but after all..

We all want what we can't have.

He spent every waking moment thinking of her.

-

"Ghaliah, I need to talk to you." Hamad said as he followed her to her car.

"Stop, 7amad this is getting out of control." AlGhaliah said.

"ok, sim3ay I'm not up to no good. I really like you even if it means being only friends" Hamad said, even If he didn't really want that.

"okay, friends" Ghalia said with a smile.

Don't take this the wrong way but AlGhalia originally used to live in San Francisco, so the idea of being friends with guys way okay with her.

She actually had more guy friends than girls because well you know.. less drama. No one likes drama.

"ta3alay lets ditch next class, I want to get to know you" Hamad said with bad intentions.

"I can't, 3endee millar + we barely know each other ana mu maynouna" Al ghalia said with a smirk.

"7atan ana 3endee millar bes ba3ad sa3a" Hamad said, while Ghalia got her books from her car.

Ghalia and Hamad both study engineering. Hamad is going to major in mechanical engineering while Ghalia is going to major in chemical engineering.

"Millar's class is across campus, 20 minutes on foot" Hamad said, and Ghalia looked at him and said "exercise, you could use it" burn.

"Ana kilee muscles, she3arfich?" He said while he poked the medium sized muscles on his arms and Ghalia giggled.

"bes tara ana ma ra7 amshee" Hmada said

"stop being such a lazy ass, 9j kuwaiti" She said with a smile.

"ba3dain mnu eyeeb my bike?" Hamad said

"cute, 3endik bicycle?" Al Ghalia replied

He smiled to himself, He turned to his Harley division bike. "wow, khoush bike" She said with a surprised face.

"adree, ride?" He said.

-

"You never know what people think about" think about that.

My illuminating thoughts-chapter 1:

He stood there gazing at her. He loved the way the sun rays hit her innocent face. He was unaware of how long he stood there watching her, like she was the most beautiful person he'd ever seen.

She had light brown soft hair that reached her hipbone, light colored eyes and she had fairly tanned skin. After all everyone's tanned in California. She was skinny, the type of skinny that no one would notice.

Do you believe in it?

 Love at first sight?

He fell in love with her beauty. He, like every other kuwaiti guy fell in love with how a girl looked like.
Every time he would try talking to her, she looked away pretending not to hear him.

She was afraid some khaleeji would see him talking to her. Even though they were in the middle of Los Angeles where they both attended university.

UCLA was filled with khaleeji's but back in Kuwait hamad thought that America would be the perfect escape from the Arab society. He was wrong, arabs follow you everywhere you go.

Completely unaware, He came to LA incredibly surprised. towa awal esbou3 jam3a, towa ma 9ar shay he thought to himself.
